as catalysts to learn and practice Unconditional Love in our relationship
with ourselves and Spirit. |
In Therapeutic Life Coaching and Healing, I use many
modalities. It is not counseling or psychotherapy, it is a process of
inquiry through cognitive, subconscious and creative processes in which
the client comes to discover for him or herself their own truths, and
comes to more love and compassion for themselves and others.
Working with a coach is like having an experienced guide and companion
to help explore, embrace and inspire us to live the possibilities in our
lives rather than focusing on, and getting stuck in the "pathology"
or "what is wrong" with our lives.
I started to learn about healing loss, grief, forgiveness
and heartbreak through my own journey. My first personal losses were
natural spaces and animals. I have always been deeply connected in the
natural world. Animals and the earth have always spoken to me, and from
my childhood I've been an advocate for environmental health and healing
our relationship with animals, the earth and creation. I studied psychology,
religion, anthropology and sociology in college, and worked in refugee
resettlement and supported Southeast Asians, Africans and Afganis in
their journey from the horrors of war, loss and grief into their new
communities in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Minnesota. I worked with
racism and bigotry in intimate ways.
Subsequently I worked in sustainable agriculture, was an organic farmer,
and did community organizing around social justice issues and holistic
health in rural Solomon Islands, and in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Our family went through a period of intense loss in the last decade.
My world was challenged by five moves - four of which were entire farming
operations - in 6 years. I lost a dear friend and her son in a car crash
that killed four people. We lost four family members to cancer and Alzeihmers,
a close friend to Lou Gerig's Disease and another to Aids and one to
cancer. We sold our organic dairy farm and moved to the city. Shortly
after, I went through a divorce with two small children.
I went back to graduate school and to study emotional and spiritual healing
and coaching then started my practice in supporting people through dying,
loss and grief. Several years later we lost three family members, Paul,
Sheila and Marcia Wellstone, in a plane crash that impacted our personal
lives, our nation and world peace. And I've been holding the space for
healing the personal, spiritual and universal levels around that loss.
Through it all, I am so grateful for my faith and connection with the
Universe, Spirit, so many spiritual traditions, animals, creation. All
my personal experience and work with clients has made it clear that our
experiences are catalysts for deep and exponential personal transformation
and growth towards unconditional love through self awareness, forgiveness,
gratitidue, inner peace, joy, and integration. Connecting more deeply
with all of creation, through horses, through opening to Spirit, through
releasing old stories, decisions and cellular memories, is freeing and
gives us the space and energy to create anew - our new relationships
withourselves and others, how our lives unfold, and our presence with
One-ness. I am grateful to support each of you in your journey to unconditionally
loving yourself and others.
